Pregnancy and Professional Resource: Marin Perinatal Therapy

I was inspired to create Marin Perinatal Therapy to be a helpful local resource for new parents and perinatal professionals in Marin County, California.

Marin Perinatal Therapy is a collaboration with my colleagues, Ali Vogt, LMFT and Margot Kirschner, PsyD. Our collective provides community resources, perinatal training, and networking connections.

To help our clients, we created a directory of perinatal providers who offer direct services in Marin County. You can click here to view it.

One of the most important services we do is connect new parents with perinatal providers that are accepting new patients. It can be difficult to find a perinatal provider, let alone a good one for you. We make it easier.

Marin Perinatal Therapy provides services for new parents in the following ways:

  • Personal therapy with myself, Ali, or Margot. We are independent private psychotherapists.

  • Providing a resource Directory of Marin perinatal providers.

  • Birth planning for new expecting parents, survivors of abuse, or previous disappointing or traumatic births.

  • Helping new parents find a therapist that is accepted by their health insurance.

  • Connecting new parents with a therapist that speaks Spanish or their first language.

Marin Perinatal Therapy is also a resource for people who are struggling with:

  • Infertility, including difficulties conceiving, exploring medical intervention, and evaluating family building options.

  • Pregnancy loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, and termination for medical reasons (TFMR).

  • Perinatal mood disorders, including depression or anxiety during pregnancy or within the first two years postpartum.

  • Birth trauma, including grieving the birth experience and healing trauma.

Marin Perinatal Therapy also works closely with Marin’s professional community of perinatal providers to create a Directory. We update this Directory annually and provide a free copy to a wide range of providers, including therapists, psychiatrists, physicians, obstetricians, gynecologists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, midwives, birth doulas, postpartum doulas, lactation specialists, physical therapists, yoga teachers, counselors, birth coaches, bodyworkers and any professional who serves new, expecting, or baby loss families.
