Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common issues that clients request support managing. Intense anxiety and panic attacks can perpetuate a cycle of fear and worry. After identifying stressors, triggers and beliefs, I incorporate a mindfulness approach to teach relaxation skills. These skills include breathing techniques, body awareness and tools for self regulating. Some clients are open to incorporating guided imagery into our work together which can teach your brain to calm itself.

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMAD), commonly known as Postpartum Depression is a painful experience for many mothers prior to birth and within the first year after delivery. Some of the most common and under-diagnosed symptoms include anxiety, frustration and irritability. These feelings can be different from what a mother anticipates which can increase isolation. Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders are highly treatable with the support of a trusted team.

For clients who are open to exploring supplements or medication I can provide referrals and request your permission to work as a team with other medical professionals. Often the best outcomes combine therapy and medication.
